The Hawk lived on in mutated form in Europe as the Revere, which was basically a shaft-drive Hawk.
It seems that Honda has maintained the basic premise of the Hawk/Revere, and updated it significantly.
I'd really, really like to see Honda use this engine in a variety of bikes, such as a light, narrow standard (like the original NT650), and perhaps an adventure bike (like the Suzuki V-Strom, and the BMW F800GS)
And, it seems that Honda are keeping up their tradition of pricing it slightly too high to be a wildly popular bike. It really needs to be $1500 cheaper to compete with the SV.
