I am having a really big issue getting two of the 4 spark plugs out of my hawk. Looking at the top of the motor from the seat, the right rear and the left front spark plugs are impossible to get out. The factory tool kit is a joke because the plug tool is too short and I can't find a plug tool that will work because of the angle the plug is on in the head. I really don't want to take it to a dealer for them to change two plugs then bend me over when they figure the cost. Let me know if you have any ideas.

The only tool that you'll be able to use to get out that front plug is the OEM tool.

If you are having a hard time getting it out, first soak it down with penetrating oil and then gently try again, working it in and out very slightly to try to penetrate the gook holding it in. If you force it, you may damage the threads.

For that front-left plug, I use the oem tool and put a 12mm snap-on swivel socket wrench on the end of it.

Same for the back-right.

Ryan, My OEM plug tool is only 3 & 7/8 in long, and has a round end on it. maybe I don't have the OEM tool? Do you think if i spot weld a short bolt to the end on my tool and then use a swivel socket i can get it to work?

It doesn't sound like you have the OEM spark plug socket.

I would just buy it from http://www.ronayers.com or some other online OEM retailer.

They are affordable and it will make your life a lot easier to have it.

Ive had great success with the factory tool for the inside spark plugs. I use it with a 12 mm socket and it works great.

Cheers
